A special thanks to all who sponsored and/or exhibited at the 2021 Summit. We trust the event in a small way contributed to building meaningful and profitable relationships. We hope to see you next year as well.
Our 2021 keynote speaker was Coach Matt Deggs, head baseball coach for the University of Louisiana – Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns. Coach Deggs shared his personal experiences of success, self- inflicted failure and redemption. His presentation was a hit with attendees with many of them sharing “he was
the best I’ve ever heard.” We’re already looking for the next keynote speaker for the 2022 Summit to be held again at the Perdido Beach Resort. Mark your calendar now for Sept 12 – 14, 2022. It is fast becoming a must attend event for all stakeholders working toward the goal of zero damages in Alabama.
The sessions were well attended, and topics were relevant and timely and that is in keeping with the goal of the Alabama 811 Summit... and that is to bring stakeholders together to exchange contact information, meet new people and work together to resolve Alabama issues that continue to plague us in the field.
Speakers and sessions are especially selected to focus on damage prevention, worker safety and topics suggested
as needed by attendees. Updates on enforcement activity in the state was of interest to attendees as well as better understanding the overall process for utilizing the enforcement tools.
Congratulations to Phillip Lamar, Wheeler Basin Natural Gas, who was the lucky winner of the $500 cash prize to close down the show.
Hope to see you next year back at
the Perdido Beach Resort at the 2022 Alabama Damage Prevention Summit scheduled for September 12 – 14.
Another networking opportunity. Great lunch and an even greater keynote speaker was about to take the stage. Hope you didn’t pass up the peach cobbler!
The exhibit hall was full and offered plenty of opportunity to make new friends and learn new things.
(Above) When Alabama 811’s customized hardhat was unveiled, there were lots of oohs and aahs. At the Alabama 811 reception, a drawing was held and the excited winner was Felisa Webster. Congratulations Felisa!
(Right) Coach Deggs connected with the crowd after lunch and took them on a too-real journey that went through failure and ended up in redemption. Should have been there!
